Recognizes Birmingham Police Officer Charles Wilson as a nominee for the 2012 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement, the state's highest law enforcement award for extraordinary courage in the line of duty.

On April 8, 2011, at 4:40 p.m., Officer Wilson responded to a suicide attempt call in the North Precinct where he found a person standing on a bucket with a rope around his neck tied to a tree branch.

Officer Wilson quickly rushed to aid the person, grabbed his legs, and hoisted him up to relieve pressure from the rope, then held him until a fireman could cut the rope from the tree.

Honors Officer Wilson as an exemplar of caring and dedicated law enforcement professionals who provide prompt and professional response during times of crisis.

Directs that Officer Wilson receive a copy of this resolution as evidence of the House's admiration and esteem.
