Recognizes Birmingham Police Officer Willie Willis as a nominee for the 2012 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement, the state's highest law enforcement award.

Officer Willis is an eight-year veteran assigned to the West Precinct of the Birmingham Police Department.

On October 6, 2011, Officer Willis responded to a report of two females fighting at Arkadelphia Road and discovered one female threatening to jump off the Interstate 20/59 bridge.

Officer Willis deployed his Taser to prevent the female from climbing over the railing and jumping, then called paramedics to transport her to the hospital for treatment.

Directs that Officer Willis receive a copy of this resolution as evidence of the legislature's admiration and esteem.
