Matthew Hodges attained the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor in the Boy Scouts of America, as a member of Troop 230 in Moody, Alabama, receiving his award on April 21, 2012.

Hodges earned 27 Merit Badges and served in leadership positions including Quartermaster, Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, and Senior Patrol Leader.

For his Eagle Scout project, Hodges created a Child Identification Kit in cooperation with the Moody Police Department to assist in missing child cases.

Beyond Scouting, Hodges is an outstanding student and football team member at Moody High School and an active church member.

The House of Representatives congratulates and commends Matthew Hodges for attaining Eagle Scout rank and exemplifying qualities of self-discipline, self-reliance, good citizenship, and devotion to duty.
