The Joint Committee on Rules met on April 25, 2012, to address Ms. Claire Austin's alleged violation of Joint Rule 27 (which sets forth obligations of lobbyists before the Alabama Legislature) that occurred on April 18, 2012.

Ms. Austin was given notice and an opportunity to appear at the hearing; the committee took testimony, found the alleged actions did occur, and determined they constituted a violation of Joint Rule 27.

Joint Rule 29 authorizes the respective house to censure, reprimand, place on probation, or prohibit from lobbying anyone violating the rules relating to lobbying.

The House of Representatives reprimands Ms. Claire Austin for her actions on April 18, 2012, in violation of Joint Rule 27.
