Mrs. Burford was born September 9, 1921, in Double Springs, Alabama, to Rufus A. and Virginia Shaddix Wilson.

Survivors include her daughter Kathleen Oney, grandchildren Mila (Sam) Lance and James Oney, five great-grandchildren, sister Rachel (Roger) Fleming, and brother Paul Richard Wilson.

The House of Representatives records her death with deep sadness and offers this resolution in tribute to her life and memory.
