SB110 Summary

• Continues the existence and functioning of the State Board of Auctioneers until October 1, 2016, pursuant to the Alabama Sunset Law.

• Amends Section 34-4-21 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to clarify the time period in which auctioneer licenses may be renewed, allowing renewal at any time during the months preceding the expiration date of September 30.

• Permits late renewal within 60 days after expiration upon payment of the required license fee plus a late fee of $25 for apprentices and $50 for auctioneers.

• Establishes examination fees of up to $100 for applicants and $150 for nonresident applicants seeking reciprocal licensing, with license fees capped at $250 for auctioneers and $100 for apprentices.

• Requires mandatory continuing education for license renewal (except for licensees 65 years of age or older) and mandates disclosure of prior criminal convictions, misdemeanors involving moral turpitude, pending arrests, and disciplinary proceedings.
