Members of the Board of Trustees of the University of South Alabama may participate in meetings via telephone conference, video conference, or similar communications equipment where all participants can hear each other simultaneously.

Remote participation counts as physical presence at meetings for all purposes.

A majority of a quorum must be physically present at the noticed meeting location to conduct business or deliberation.

All board meetings must comply with the Alabama Open Meetings Act, and public members must be given simultaneous opportunity to listen to or observe meetings conducted by electronic communications.

The act became effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor on March 20, 2012.
