SB357 Summary

• Proposes a constitutional amendment to the Alabama Constitution of 1901 relating to Baldwin County municipalities.

• Prohibits any municipality located wholly or partially within Baldwin County from exercising police jurisdiction beyond its corporate limits.

• Prohibits any municipality in Baldwin County from exercising zoning, planning, subdivision, or other land use jurisdiction beyond its corporate limits, notwithstanding any other law or agreement.

• Requires an election on the proposed amendment to be held in accordance with Amendment 555 and state election laws.

• Directs election officials to place a ballot number and description of the amendment on the election ballot with "Yes" and "No" voting options.
