SB475 Summary

• Repeals Section 12-21-222, Code of Alabama 1975, which currently requires corroborating evidence beyond accomplice testimony for felony convictions.

• Eliminates the requirement that a person cannot be convicted of a felony based solely on an accomplice's testimony without independent evidence connecting the defendant to the offense.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
