• Mobile County Board of Education may authorize security personnel and resource officers to carry concealed firearms while on duty.

• Employees must complete 16 hours of firearm training in a program approved by the Alabama Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission.

• Employees must annually complete and pass firearm re-qualification required of law enforcement officers by the Alabama Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission.

• The act becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
