SB6 - Abortion-Inducing Drug Safety Act

• Establishes the Abortion-Inducing Drug Safety Act requiring physicians to examine women in person and document gestational age and intrauterine location before administering abortion-inducing drugs.

• Requires abortion-inducing drugs to be administered only by licensed physicians following FDA-approved protocols as outlined in drug labels, including three in-person office visits and a follow-up visit approximately 14 days after administration.

• Mandates physicians have signed contracts with another physician to handle complications, provide patients with emergency contact information and hospital details, and make reasonable efforts to ensure patient compliance with follow-up appointments.

• Establishes criminal penalties of Class C felony for violations and civil liability including malpractice damages, professional disciplinary action, and wrongful death recovery, with no penalties assessed against the pregnant woman.

• Requires physicians to report adverse events to the FDA via Medwatch system and to the Department of Public Health within three days; becomes effective 90 days from governor signing.
