• Guarantees every person the liberty to worship according to conscience and prohibits compelling anyone to attend, contribute to, or support any place of religious worship or minister.

• Protects civil and political rights from being diminished or enlarged based on religious beliefs.

• Prohibits expenditure of public funds in defense of the constitutionality of this amendment.

• Amendment becomes effective upon approval by majority of qualified electors voting in accordance with constitutional election procedures.
