Amends Section 36-25-1 of the Alabama Code of Ethics to define "public employee" and create an exemption for school employees.

Excludes persons employed by local school boards at schools within the board's jurisdiction in any capacity other than principal or administrator from the definition of "public employee" under the Alabama Code of Ethics.

Applies the exemption to teachers, support staff, and other non-administrative school employees, removing them from ethics compliance requirements that apply to other government employees.

Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor, or upon becoming law through other means.
