Commends Dr. Paul Hubbert for his distinguished service to public education and the State of Alabama spanning more than 42 years.

Recognizes Dr. Hubbert's retirement on December 31, 2011, from his position as Executive Secretary of the Alabama Education Association, where he represented Alabama's teachers and support personnel.

Acknowledges his instrumental role in growing the Alabama Education Association membership from approximately 21,000 to more than 100,000 members and spearheading the 1969 merger with the Alabama State Teachers Association.

Honors his achievement in securing retirement and health insurance benefits for approximately 33,000 support personnel and his receipt of the H. Councill Trenholm Memorial Award at the National Education Association's 2009 Human and Civil Rights Awards Dinner.

Extends highest commendation to Dr. Hubbert in recognition of his dedicated commitment to protecting Alabama's educators and improving public education.
