• Dr. Rush retired at age 64 on December 28, 2011, after practicing family medicine at Lineville Clinic for 30 years in partnership with Dr. George C. Smith, Sr., and later Dr. Buddy Smith.

• Recognized for his medical credentials including certification by the American Board of Family Practice, fellowship with AAFP, and work at Clay County Hospital ER performing surgeries and delivering babies.

• Acknowledged for expanding his family farm, Double Branch Farms, from 156 acres to a 1,200 acre cattle operation with 200 head of cattle while serving as a mentor to farm workers.

• Senate adopted resolution on February 16, 2012, and House adopted on February 21, 2012.
