Designates a portion of State Highway 9 in Clay County as the "**MG C. Mark Bowen Highway," running from the intersection of Highway 9 and State Highway 48 in Lineville north to the intersection of Barfield Fire Department Road in Barfield.

Honors Major General C. Mark Bowen for more than 44 years of service in the Alabama National Guard, including service as Adjutant General of Alabama.

Recognizes General Bowen's command of over 10,000 Alabama National Guard members mobilized for the Global War on Terrorism and command of 5,000 members during the 2004 and 2005 hurricane seasons.

Acknowledges General Bowen's military decorations including the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Army Commendation Medal, and Expert Infantry Badge.

Requests appropriate officials to erect and maintain signs designating the road with the **MG C. Mark Bowen Highway name, with the two stars representing his rank.
