• Recognizes the 20th Annual Delta Day at the Alabama State Capitol on Thursday, April 19, 2012, and commends Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

• Delta Sigma Theta Sorority was founded on January 13, 1913, by 22 collegiate women at Howard University and now has more than 250,000 members in over 1,000 chapters throughout the United States and abroad.

• The sorority follows a Five Point Program focusing on Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement.

• Honors notable Delta Sigma Theta members including Alabama legislators Senator Linda Coleman, former Senator Sundra Escott, Representatives Laura Hall, Merika Coleman, Mary Moore, and Pebblin Warren, as well as former Congresswomen Shirley Chisholm, Barbara Jordan, and Stephanie Tubbs Jones.

• Resolution to be presented to Cheryl W. Turner, Interim Southern Regional Director, recognizing the organization's significant contributions to educational, civic, and social advancement.
