Senate recognizes Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated on the 13th observance of AKA Day at the Capitol on February 23, 2012.

Honors the sorority's mission of "Service to All Mankind" and its century-long leadership in positive change within the African-American community and American life.

Provides memorial tribute to deceased honorary members Virginia Durr, Johnnie Carr, Coretta Scott King, Ethel Hall, and Rosa Parks during Black History Month.

The 2012 AKA Day program will address redistricting, public policy, the 2014 presidential election, restoration of voting rights, voter ID requirements, economic empowerment, and educational opportunities.

Directs copies of the resolution be provided to Attorney Carolyn House Stewart (International President), Adrienne P.K. Washington (Southeastern Regional Director), and Attorney Leyser Hayes (International Chair of the Connection Committee).
