Names the Senate Judiciary Committee Room in honor of the late Michael A. Figures and Ryan deGraffenried, Jr.

Michael A. Figures earned a BA from Stillman College in 1969 and a JD from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1972, where he was one of the first three African Americans to earn a law degree.

Figures was elected to the State Senate in 1978 from Mobile County as the first African American from that area and served for 18 years, achieving the position of Senate President Pro Tempore before his death in 1996.

Figures advocated for civil rights, public education, small business, and the common man, and contributed to the Alabama Lawyers Association, Alabama State Bar, and Stillman College Board of Trustees.
