• Establishes the crime of trespass on a school bus in the first degree, named the Charles "Chuck" Poland, Jr., Act.

• Makes it illegal to intentionally demolish, destroy, deface, injure, burn, or damage any public school bus.

• Prohibits entering a public school bus without lawful purpose while doors are open for loading/unloading, at railroad grade crossings, or after being forbidden by the bus driver or school principal.

• Classifies the offense as a Class A misdemeanor with exceptions for children under 12 years of age and authorized school personnel performing job duties.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
