HB121 Summary

• Establishes the State Lands Transparency Act requiring governmental agencies receiving real property from other state agencies via intergovernmental transfer to publish notice in a newspaper of general circulation for two consecutive weeks before taking title.

• Notice must be published in a newspaper in the county where the receiving governmental agency, board, commission, authority, or political subdivision is located.

• Applies to all transfers between governmental entities including agencies, boards, commissions, authorities, and other political subdivisions of Alabama.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor or upon otherwise becoming law.
