• Reduces the posting period for personnel vacancies when school is in session from not less than seven calendar school days to not less than three calendar school days before the position is filled.

• Reduces the posting period for supervisory, managerial, or newly created position vacancies from at least 14 calendar school days to at least seven calendar school days before the position is filled.

• Applies to all public county and city boards of education, the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind, Alabama Youth Services Department School Board, Alabama School of Fine Arts, Alabama High School of Mathematics and Science, and State Board of Education for two-year postsecondary institutions.

• Maintains requirement that vacancy notices be posted in a conspicuous place at each school campus and worksite and include job description, qualifications, salary, application information, and deadlines.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
