Amends Section 13A-5-6 of the Alabama Code to establish mandatory minimum sentences for defendants wearing bulletproof vests, body armor, or ballistic protection during commission of felonies.

Class A felonies committed while wearing ballistic protection, or involving use of firearms/deadly weapons, or certain child sex offenses carry a mandatory minimum sentence of not less than 20 years.

Class B or C felonies committed while wearing ballistic protection, or involving use of firearms/deadly weapons, or certain child sex offenses carry a mandatory minimum sentence of not less than 10 years.

Offenders convicted of sex offenses under specified statutes against victims age 6 or younger when offender was 21 or older shall be sentenced to life imprisonment without possibility of parole.

Act becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
