Lee County Commission may adopt supplemental purchasing processes for personal property purchases using vendor cards and procurement cards.

Supplemental purchasing processes must follow effective business practices, include safeguards against fund misappropriation, achieve cost savings, and provide employee training on implementation.

Lee County Commission may receive rebates from procurement card programs, with rebates deposited in the General Fund first to reimburse operational costs, then used for general county purposes.

The act does not eliminate competitive bid requirements mandated by general law.

Act becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor.
