HB530 Summary

• Amends Alabama Code Sections 28-3A-6 and 28-4A-3 to allow manufacturers and brewpubs to sell beer and other alcoholic beverages for off-premises consumption under an additional license, in addition to existing on-premises sales.

• Limits off-premises sales to 25,000 barrels annually per licensee and restricts sales to the licensed premises only.

• Establishes an annual license fee of $1,000 for each additional off-premises consumption license issued by the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board.

• Requires licensees to pay all applicable state and local taxes on beverages sold for off-premises consumption.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
