Amends Section 36-21-181 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to modify the initial term of the Governor-appointed volunteer firefighter member of the Board of Commissioners of the Alabama Firefighters Annuity and Benefit Fund from two years to four years.

Changes the terminology for the Governor-appointed position from "consumer member" to "volunteer firefighter."

Maintains all other board member positions and their initial four-year terms, including members appointed by the Alabama Association of Volunteer Fire Departments, Alabama Firefighters Association, Professional Firefighters Association of Alabama, and Alabama Association of Fire Chiefs.

The change to the Governor-appointed member's term becomes effective upon expiration of the current consumer member's term in office.

Passed the House of Representatives on April 25, 2013 with a vote of 91-0.
