HB 632 Summary

• Amends Section 29-1-26 of the Alabama Code to extend indefinitely the exemption allowing legislators who were state employees or teachers on December 1, 2010, to continue in that employment.

• Removes the expiration date of November 5, 2014, for continued employment under the Legislative Double Dipping Prohibition Act exemption for grandfathered employees and teachers.

• Maintains all other prohibitions against legislators holding employment in other branches of state government, state agencies, or public educational institutions, except for the specified exemptions.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
