HB 82 Summary

• State Department of Finance shall develop and maintain an automated inventory of all facilities and lands owned, leased, rented, or otherwise occupied by state agencies and the judicial branch, including location, occupying agency, and ownership information.

• Excludes facilities of the State Department of Transportation and Alabama State Port Authority, which shall maintain their own separate inventories available to the public online.

• Alabama Commission on Higher Education and State Department of Postsecondary Education shall develop facilities inventories for state universities and community colleges in a format acceptable to the State Department of Finance.

• Inventories shall be updated at least once every 3 years, with additional updates required to reflect new acquisitions and significant changes as they occur.

• Automated inventory shall be maintained on the State Department of Finance website for public access, effective January 1, 2014.
