Recognizes Deputy Phillips' actions on November 3, 2012, when he responded to a welfare check on a suicidal, intoxicated resident armed with a gun in Lauderdale County.

Details that Deputy Phillips and a Reserve Deputy worked to diffuse the situation, and both fired their duty weapons when the resident pointed his weapon at Deputy Phillips after being ordered to lower it.

Notes Deputy Phillips cleared the remainder of the house for safety while the other deputy remained with the resident and that he notified 911 and requested EMS.

Directs that Deputy Phillips receive a copy of this resolution as evidence of the Legislature's admiration and esteem for his service and professionalism.
