Recognizes Deputy Tony Wayne Blackwell of the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office as a nominee for the 2013 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement.

Commends Deputy Blackwell's service since 2007 in roles including patrol deputy, K-9 handler, Drug Agent, and member of the DeKalb County Sheriff's Mounted Unit.

Honors his actions on June 8, 2012, when he used deadly force to protect himself and an Alabama State Trooper from an armed suspect who had pulled a weapon during a chase.

Recognizes his demonstration of courage and compassion by checking on his injured fellow officer and performing CPR on the suspect until medical personnel arrived.

Directs that Deputy Blackwell receive a copy of the resolution as evidence of the legislature's admiration and esteem.
