Honors and commends SaveFirst, a signature initiative of Impact Alabama that coordinates service learning projects across more than 20 universities and colleges throughout Alabama.

Recognizes SaveFirst's provision of free tax preparation services to low-income, working families, with over 2,175 trained students from 17 campuses preparing tax returns for more than 17,300 families at 16 statewide sites.

Credits SaveFirst with helping working families secure $31.7 million in tax refunds and save $4.8 million in commercial tax preparation fees.

Highlights the SaveNow WinLater program, in which 692 Alabama families invested in 1,263 savings bonds totaling $63,150 through a prize-based incentive initiative.

Expresses the Legislature's full support for SaveNow WinLater as a positive vehicle for encouraging savings among Alabama's low-to moderate-income working families.
