Urges the State Board of Education to refrain from accepting any federal funds tied to the Common Core State Standards Initiative until the Alabama Legislature holds a full and open debate on the issue.

Asserts that the U.S. Constitution reserves the setting of academic standards, curriculum, and instruction to the states, and that Alabama's State Board of Education is charged with establishing Alabama's educational standards.

Contends that federal government intrusion on Alabama's right to establish educational curriculum and standards violates federalism and state autonomy, and denies the state its rightful duty to determine standards best suited for Alabama children.

Requires a copy of the resolution be provided to the State Superintendent of Education for distribution to the State Board of Education.
