• Creates a Joint Interim Legislative Committee to Study Home School Access to Public School Extracurricular Activities to examine participation of home-schooled and church-schooled students in public K-12 athletics and extracurricular activities.

• Committee membership includes 4 House members, 3 Senate members, representatives from school boards, superintendents, athletic associations, the State Department of Education, independent schools, and 4 current home-schooling parents.

• Committee chair and vice chair shall be elected by members at the first meeting, with committee composition reflecting racial, gender, geographic, urban/rural, and economic diversity of the state.

• Committee must report findings, conclusions, and recommendations to the Legislature no later than the fifth legislative day of the 2014 Regular Session, after which the committee dissolves.

• Legislative members receive regular compensation, per diem, and travel expenses; total committee expenditures capped at $1,000.
