AL HR14

Commends the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) for its support of Alabama's economic, technological, and workforce development.

Recognizes UAH as a Tier One national university ranked in the top five percent by U.S. News and World Report, with "very high activity" research classification by The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching among only 73 public universities.

Notes UAH has four research programs ranked in the Top 10 nationally and 14 in the Top 20 according to the National Science Foundation, with leadership in aerospace systems engineering, aviation systems engineering, Earth and space science, applied optics, cybersecurity, robotics, and related fields.

Acknowledges UAH's extensive partnerships with government agencies at Redstone Arsenal including NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center and U.S. Army commands, and its role as anchor tenant for Cummings Research Park, the second largest university-related research park in the United States.

Directs that a copy of the resolution be provided to the University of Alabama in Huntsville for presentation and display.
