Recognizes Deputy Robert Lindell of the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office as a nominee for the 2013 Alabama Legislative Medal of Honor for Law Enforcement.

Deputy Lindell has served as a full-time Deputy Sheriff with Baldwin County Sheriff's Office since August 29, 2011, in the Patrol Division.

On November 23, 2012, Deputy Lindell responded to a medical assistance call near Fairhope where a subject refused to emerge from his residence and was believed to be a danger to himself and others.

During the incident, the subject fired upon deputies, seriously injuring Deputy Scott Ward and Sergeant Curtis Summerlin; Deputy Lindell returned fire, killed the subject, and immediately provided first aid to the injured deputies.

Deputy Ward died from his gunshot wounds despite treatment, while Sergeant Summerlin survived after hospitalization and multiple surgeries; the investigation determined Deputy Lindell acted without regard for his own safety and saved Sergeant Summerlin's life.
