Commends NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama for serving as an economic engine employing nearly 6,000 people across more than 125 facilities with an annual budget of approximately $2.5 billion.

Recognizes the Center's 54-year critical role in developing rockets for lunar missions, the Space Shuttle propulsion system, Skylab, Spacelab, International Space Station nodes, Hubble Space Telescope, Chandra X-ray Observatory, and next-generation launch vehicles.

Acknowledges the Center's contributions to intellectual capital growth in Alabama by supporting a highly educated workforce and providing significant procurements and grants to area educational institutions.

Recognizes Patrick Scheuermann, named Director of Marshall Space Flight Center in September 2012, who joined NASA in 1988 and previously served as Director of NASA's Stennis Space Center from 2010-2012.

Directs that a copy of the resolution be forwarded to Patrick Scheuermann recognizing the distinguished scientists, engineers, technicians, management, and support personnel of the Marshall Space Flight Center.
