• Mourns the death of Chester E. Singleton, M.D., of Greensboro, Alabama, who died on March 25, 2013, at age 84.

• Dr. Singleton was born November 5, 1928, earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1955, served as a Captain in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany, and maintained a 40-year medical practice in Greensboro including house calls before retiring in 2000.

• He served as a charter member of the West Alabama EMS Board and West Alabama Health Development Corporation, was a member of the Hale County Cancer Society and Hale County Hospital Board, and served as Chief of Staff of Hale County Hospital.

• Survivors include his wife Peggy T. Singleton, three children, the mother of his children Dora Jean Singleton, multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren, stepchildren and their descendants, and siblings.

• The House of Representatives records his death with deep sadness and offers this resolution as a tribute to his life and in sympathy to his family.
