Mourns the death of Mr. Walter Frank "Bill" Nichols of Phenix City, Alabama, who died on April 8, 2013, at age 92.

Recognizes his career beginning in 1954 with the Phenix City Department of Parks and Recreation, where he served as Superintendent and as past president of the Alabama Parks and Recreation Society and first State Softball Commissioner.

Honors his work as an accomplished musician and band leader in the 1940s, illustrator for The Coca-Cola Company, and music director for several churches including Porter Memorial Baptist Church in Bibb City.

Survived by his wife Sara Harrison Nichols, daughter Beth Glen, sons Chris and Gary Nichols, nine grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

House of Representatives records his death with deep sadness and extends heartfelt sympathy to his family.
