Recognizes Reach as an internationally renowned pianist, vocalist, and educator serving as Director of Student Jazz Programs for the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame, and as an accomplished guitarist, arranger, composer, conductor, and music producer

Notes Reach began piano lessons at age six in Birmingham, Alabama, and attended Birmingham-Southern College, the University of Montevallo, and The University of Alabama, where he directed the award-winning Jazz Ensemble B and received the Raymond Hubbell Musical Scholarship

Highlights Reach's active jazz education career since the early 1970s at numerous colleges, his faculty membership at the W.C. Handy Jazz Camp, and his role in a musical tribute to Paul Robeson
