Honors Lieutenant Deborah Guy for more than 30 years of exemplary service to Jefferson County upon her retirement from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.

Recognizes her hire on June 20, 1983, and promotion through the ranks based on exceptional leadership skills and dedication to duty.

Commends her work developing and instituting the inmate classification system in the Bessemer and Birmingham Jails, which was recognized by the United States Justice Department.

Notes her certifications as a General Instructor and Special Instructor by the Alabama Peace Officers' Standards and Training Commission and her work providing life enrichment programs for female inmates.

Acknowledges her educational credentials including an Accounting Degree from Bessemer State Technical College (1975) and a Criminal Justice Degree from Jefferson State Community College (1983).
