Recognizes the Office of Constable as the oldest law enforcement office in world history and a vital part of law enforcement in Alabama since the state's founding.

Notes that existing Constables operate without any cost to the State of Alabama and provide unpaid service to their communities.

Identifies potential expanded uses for Constables including community watch, litter control, school traffic assistance, and support to regular law enforcement agencies.

Resolves that the House of Representatives will work with County Commissions, District Attorneys, Sheriffs, and Law Enforcement Agencies to develop better and more effective ways of utilizing Constables.

Directs that a copy of the resolution be provided to the Alabama Constables Association.
