Mrs. Addis Earline Thornton of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, died on April 10, 2013, at the age of 86 years.

Born March 28, 1927, in Walker County, she retired from BellSouth after more than 30 years and served as president of Telephone Pioneers on two occasions.

She volunteered at Druid City Hospital gift shop, was a member of Forest Lake Baptist Church, and served with Wings of Grace disaster relief organization following the April 2011 tornado outbreak.

She was predeceased by her husband of 27 years, Boyce Dayton Thornton, Sr., and is survived by her son, Boyce Dayton Thornton, Jr., along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

The House of Representatives records her death with deep sadness and offers heartfelt sympathy to her family.
