Commends Beeson Divinity School at Samford University in Birmingham on celebrating its 25th Anniversary.

Board of Trustees of Samford University authorized establishment of the School of Divinity in February 1988 and named it Beeson School of Divinity in December 1988 in honor of Ralph Waldo Beeson and his late father, John Wesley Beeson.

Ralph Waldo Beeson provided the largest gift from a living individual in Samford history to establish the first divinity school at a Baptist college or university in the nation.

School is open to persons from all Christian denominations and trains students for ministry, with many graduates serving as pastors and others in various places of service.

Dr. Timothy George has served as dean since the school's inception, and the House of Representatives directs that a copy of this resolution be provided to the school for display.
