SB138 Summary

• Appropriates $10,800,000 from the Education Trust Fund to the Department of Commerce for fiscal year ending September 30, 2013, to fund Workforce Development in the Alabama Industrial Development Training Institute Program and comply with state incentive commitments.

• Appropriates $5,264,915 from the Education Trust Fund to the Department of Veterans' Affairs for fiscal year ending September 30, 2013, to fund the Student Financial Aid Program.

• Allows Jacksonville State University to retain unexpended funds from fiscal years 2012 and 2013 appropriated for the Alabama Film Initiative Program and Little River Canyon Field School for continued expenditure on those programs.

• Allows the State Department of Education to retain $2,316,462 in unexpended and carried over funds from prior fiscal years for the Alabama Science in Motion Program to be expended in accordance with Title 16, Chapters 61B and 61C of the Code of Alabama 1975.

• Takes effect immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor.
