SB163 Summary

• Establishes a Physically Disabled Military Veteran's Appreciation Hunting License for U.S. military veterans certified by the VA as 50 percent or more physically disabled, available beginning September 1, 2013.

• Resident disabled veterans who meet other licensing requirements may purchase the appreciation license at one-half the cost of the annual resident all-game hunting license plus applicable issuance fees.

• Creates a special Physically Disabled Military Veteran's Appreciation three-day trip event hunting license for sanctioned events, permitting up to 10 disabled veteran hunters (resident or non-resident) per license at a cost equal to the nonresident three-day hunting license plus issuance fees.

• Allows all hunting license holders to voluntarily donate an additional $1 to the Division of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries for wildlife research and habitat conservation.

• Act becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
