Repeals Section 13A-5-9.1 of the Alabama Code, which provided for retroactive application of the 2000 Habitual Offender Act amendments to persons sentenced under prior law.

The repeal applies prospectively only and does not affect any cases with motions pending in trial court or appellate court on the effective date of the act.

Persons sentenced after May 25, 2000 were not eligible for sentence review under the retroactive application provision being repealed.

The act becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor or upon otherwise becoming law.
