SB379 Summary

• Amends Code of Alabama Sections 32-6-67 and 32-6-68 to allow the legislative oversight committee to consider and approve distinctive license plate applications for out-of-state colleges and universities, limited to quantity Class 2 plates.

• Requires applications for out-of-state college and university license plates to be submitted pursuant to Section 32-6-64.

• Establishes that for out-of-state college and university license plates, after deducting commission, manufacturing costs, and administrative costs, one-half of the remaining additional fee goes to the State General Fund and one-half goes to the Education Trust Fund.

• Takes effect on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor.
