SB386 Summary

• Amends Section 11-92B-24 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to exempt public authorities formed under Chapter 92B from competitive bid requirements in Sections 41-16-50 to 41-16-63.

• Public authorities formed for development of former federal military installations are currently subject to competitive bid law; this bill removes that requirement.

• Authority contracts will no longer be required to comply with competitive bidding procedures under Alabama law.

• Effective date is the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor, or upon becoming law through other means.
