SB409 Summary

• Prohibits issuance or renewal of licenses to sell or serve alcoholic beverages at facilities where gambling occurs, including gambling as defined in Section 13A-12-20 of the Code of Alabama 1975.

• Prohibits alcohol licenses at facilities where Class II gaming or Class III gaming occurs as defined in 25 U.S.C. §2703.

• Voids all existing alcohol licenses currently issued to facilities where gambling or bingo is played using electronic machines effective upon the bill becoming law.

• Becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and approval by the Governor, or upon otherwise becoming law.
