SB86 Summary

• Authorizes sheriffs to issue lifetime concealed pistol permits in addition to existing annual permits.

• Sets the lifetime permit fee at 40 times the annual permit fee charged in each county.

• Lifetime permit applicants must satisfy the same requirements as annual permit applicants, including demonstrating good reason for carrying a pistol and being a suitable person to be licensed.

• Sheriffs may revoke lifetime permits upon proof that the licensee is no longer a proper person to be licensed.

• The act becomes effective on the first day of the third month following passage and gubernatorial approval.
